Environment and Climate Month organised by the French Embassy in Jordan
Inauguration of the LFiA's approach to sustainable development
In the presence of His Excellency Mr. Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison, French Ambassador to Jordan, and Mr. Luc Chevaillier, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action, the LFiA proudly inaugurated the EFE3D (French establishment abroad with a sustainable development approach) label plates on its two sites. It was also an opportunity to plant the trees of the 2024 and 2025 grade 12 classes and to unveil the LFiA mural: “Laisser Fleurir ici et Ailleurs” (“Letting Flowers Blossom Here and Elsewhere”). The event continued with a multilingual choir and the committed exhibition “Our Monstrous Waste” at the primary school.
A huge well done, and thank you to all those who helped make this day an absolute success!
Green day with the Pre1/Pre2 class
To mark Taste Week, the petite section class organised a green day. All the children came dressed in green, took part in a hunt for shades of green around the school, and tasted, sorted and cooked green fruit and vegetables.
Composting workshop for eco-delegates from grade 6 to grade 9
As part of the Environment and Climate Month organised by the French Embassy in Jordan, the LFiA organised a composting workshop for eco-delegates from grade 6 to grade 9. A great opportunity for our students to discover the secrets of composting and learn how to transform organic waste into precious resources for nature.
Primary school choir
‘The joy of a new world
On 12/11, to mark the inauguration of the LFIA’s sustainable development initiative, the primary school brought together nursery and first-year pupils to perform their first choir, celebrating unity, diversity and respect for the environment.
The Grande Section KG2 children opened the show with a song about dinosaurs, inspired by their work on prehistory.
The pupils then sang ‘Si tu as de la joie dans le cœur, frappe des mains’ in Arabic and French, a fine way of celebrating our linguistic diversity.
Finally, they sang ‘Pour un nouveau monde’ by the French choir Les Enfantastiques, a hymn full of hope for a more sustainable future that respects our planet.
Thank you all for your warm applause and for supporting the children in this wonderful project! We hope this moment of joy touched each and every one of you as much as it inspired our young singers.
Exhibition by Pre1/Pre2 class
The petite section class (Pre1/Pre2) was delighted to welcome parents to the “ Nos monstrueux” déchets exhibition at the primary school. The event was punctuated by songs, a zero waste snack and a visit to the nursery exhibition. Here’s a look back at these great moments of sharing and learning.

5 minutes for the climate
As part of Environment Month, students in Terminale Spécialité HGGSP (History-Geography-Geopolitics-Political Science) took a historical and geopolitical approach to climate change. They produced several interviews as part of a special programme entitled ‘5 minutes for the climate’. Four subjects were covered:
Le Petit Optimum médiéval (900-1300)
L’impact du Petit Âge glaciaire en Europe au XVIIIe siècle
Le changement climatique contemporain et ses conséquences
Le climat : les accords internationaux.
The Laisser Fleurir ici et Ailleurs mural
Students from grade 6 to 9 worked passionately together to create the “Laisser Fleurir ici et Ailleurs” mural. This meaningful art project reflects their commitment to the planet and their desire to foster values of hope and sustainability, both here and elsewhere. With every brushstroke, they breathed life and colour into this work of art, which conveys a universal message.
Educational visit: discovering a family farm and harvesting olives
Students in the CE2, grade 3, class had a great educational experience when they went olive picking! It was a great learning experience, as they learned all about the harvest while having fun and discovering the traditions and cultural heritage associated with the olive tree.
Taste Week at primary school
To mark Taste Week, the pupils in the three KG2 classes turned themselves into little chefs to prepare an international menu, orchestrated by Monsieur Leray, head chef at the French Embassy. The other nursery classes also took part, with the middle sections preparing breakfasts in Arabic, French and English. It was a rich learning experience, combining reading recipes, developing vocabulary and learning about healthy eating.
