MUN
Last weekend, 24 of our 12th, 11th, 10th and 9th grade students participated in the MUN (Model United Nations) 14th annual conference organized by the National Orthodox School, at Sheraton Hotel, in Amman, which theme was “The Art of Diplomacy”.
More than 15 schools were represented, with nearly 400 students taking part in this event!
Special congrats to Lima HAZBOUN (Grade 12 student) for winning the title of best delegate within her UNESCO committee while representing the country of Uzbekistan. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Rioux, Mrs. Mehta Chotia, and Lima for preparing the students for this event.

Pix for grade 12
Grade 12 students have taken the Pix exam, an essential step in validating their digital skills!
CM2 students visit the airport
As part of the EMILE in English and in connection with the geography lessons on transport, the CM2 students went on a field trip to visit the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA). They had the opportunity to explore all the operational areas of the airport and even had access to the control tower. It was both an educational and fun outing, where they were able to get up close to the flying process.
Grade 11 visit the Arab Divas exhibition
Arabic language and culture are in the spotlight at LFiA: Year 11 students had the opportunity to take part in a field trip to discover the Arab Divas exhibition, which enabled them to explore the fascinating world of the great Arab divas of music and art. Thank you to the Arabic teachers for their commitment.
Tree-planting outing
Our students in action for the planet!
From first grade to grade 12, students and eco-delegates came together to plant trees and clean up nature. A wonderful energy dedicated to the environment!

Learning to manage stress before exams
With Mrs Joséphine Attié, the Head of Wellbeing and Personal Development, students in grade 9, 11 and 12 took part in an activity to better understand and manage exam stress. They learned how to tell the difference between good stress and bad stress, as well as strategies for preparing well and staying calm and focused on the big day.
Pyjama Day
Our kindergarten and first-grade students had an unforgettable pyjama day!
A day filled with engaging activities:

Relaxing activities in the “Morphée Room,” including reading and relaxation workshops

Pleading: ‘What should be done with the Parthenon friezes?
As part of a specialised HGGSP course devoted to heritage conflicts, the Terminale students held an argument on the subject of ‘What should be done with the Parthenon friezes? Students in favour of keeping the friezes in the British Museum and those in favour of returning them to Greece discussed under the refereeing of students representing UNESCO. It was a session in which the students demonstrated their eloquence and exchanged convincing arguments. Well done to them for their commitment!
Freedom Prize
Sidrah El-Moghrabi, a high school senior, had the opportunity to participate as a member of the jury in the 7th edition of the Freedom Prize. This international prize allows young people aged 15 to 25 each year to nominate a person or organization engaged in an exemplary fight for freedom.

Postcard project
As part of the Middle East Francophonie Project, our students from GS, CE2, CM1, and CM2, accompanied by their teachers and librarians, enthusiastically took part in the “Postcards” project.
Through this exchange, they wrote and sent postcards to students from other French schools in the Middle East region and received postcards in return.
A wonderful opportunity to correspond, share, and strengthen connections within the AEFE network!
Preparation meetings: budding ambassadors
Preparation meetings for our budding ambassadors have officially begun! Our students are fully committed to this exciting adventure and are preparing in earnest.
Debates organised in grade 9
As part of an EMC lesson on the workings of the French Republic, students in grade 9 debated possible solutions to the problem of abstention rates in elections. These debates are an opportunity for them to exercise their role as citizens, to speak and to express themselves orally. Well done to the 9th graders for their involvement!
Distribution of the food collection
Students from the CVL (Conseil du Vie Lycéenne – Student Life Council) distributed the donations collected during the food drive to families in need. A fine gesture of solidarity that helped those most in need.
Career guidance
Presentations on studying in France
The LFiA organised two information sessions on studying in France, one for secondary school students and the other for parents, in the presence of the PRIO Secondary School Director, Ms Eury-Shawareb, the French Embassy’s University Cooperation Attaché, Mr Troy, and the head of the Campus France Jordan, Ms Elmrabet. These meetings provided a better understanding of the opportunities for studying in France, as well as the necessary steps to take.

Our students have talent
Congratulations to CM1 student Alma Samaneh for winning the bronze medal in her first archery competition in Amman in December 2024!
Trip to Berlin
Our German-speaking students went to Berlin, Germany, for an enriching language trip! On the programme: discovery of German culture, exciting visits and language practice in an authentic setting. It was an experience that reinforced their learning and created lasting memories!

Middle East Games
Congratulations to our teams! The final results of the Middle East Games are in, and Amman 1 is the grand champion of this year’s competition! With two teams in the top 3 out of the 12 competing, our school stands out for its sporting success.
Well done to our athletes for their commitment, team spirit and determination throughout the competition!

After their outstanding performance at the Middle East Games, our athletes were honored in a special trophy ceremony at LFiA. It was another opportunity to congratulate them on their commitment, team spirit, and determination!

Varsity team news!
Saturday 2 February was a Sports Saturday for our Varsity teams!
- Football U10: Loss against IPEC School 2-4
- Football U12: Great victory against IPEC School 10-5
- Basketball U16: Intense match against King’s Academy, tied after the fourth quarter and won in overtime 62-55!
- Volleyball: Three sets against ICS, lost 2-1. Then, in a 4v4 match, we won 27-26!
A day full of challenges and great achievements for our Varsity teams! Well done, everyone!

Football Under 10 vs IEPEC: A 5-1 defeat. It was a tough match for our young players, but every loss is a lesson to bounce back stronger. We keep moving forward together!
Football Under 12 vs IEPEC: A 7-1 victory! What a performance! The team played with heart and respect. Congratulations to all!
Basketball Under 12-14 vs Kings Academy: A 28-20 victory! We are proud of our players’ outstanding performance, showcasing great team spirit and impressive game discipline.

The grade 6 students had the opportunity to discover the instruments of the symphony orchestra, talk to the musicians and ask questions about their careers and their passions.

Debate: Is taxidermy an art form?
During the art sessions, a debate was organised for the 6ème students on the question: ‘Is taxidermy an art form?’ An opportunity to explore different artistic and ethical perspectives. The students were able to express their opinions and develop their thinking on the subject.
